Kahdam

Kahdam

Kahdam, Kahti and Bahti

The altar board of African legend portrays Kahdam, the first man (carved from wood) between his first companions, the life-giving spirit and the death-granting spirit.  Kahti, the giver of life is seen as being irrational and illogical, symbolizing the nature of life itself.  Bahti, the giver of death walks on padded feet, quietly offering the gift of escape from the harsh reality of physical existence.
